Some sketches I had developed for this assignment.
I wanted to use some analogies to represent the idea of financial burden of college debt. While I am aware that big rocks, shackles are used a lot… ( I did do my research before brainstorming so to avoid coming up with an idea other illustrators have already used ) and might fall into the trope of clichés if not approached from a fresh angle, but they are effective. I also want to explore the subtlety of “there might be returns but is the stress worth it?” This comes through in some sketches, like the graduation cap as the window one. The graduation cap window is larger, symbolizing a broader perspective, tho you might say that these two people practically are looking at the same view so there is no difference.
